Here I answer the questions I get asked most often — from bad weather to deposits to whether I travel to your area. If your question isn't here, just message me directly, I usually reply the same day.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if the weather is bad?

No problem at all — if the weather is bad, your date can be rescheduled free of charge. So you don't need to worry about whether the sky cooperates on the day. We check the forecast together and, if needed, find a new date on short notice that works for you.

How do outfits work?

The best starting point is your own moodboard, or my outfit guide for colours and styles that work well in photos. I also explain there why similar colour tones look better than exact matching, and what to watch out for with patterns and logos.

Can we send you inspiration photos?

Absolutely, it's genuinely encouraged! The more clearly I understand the feeling and look you have in mind, the more precisely we can hit it together. A Pinterest board or a few saved Instagram photos is more than enough for that.

Why is there a deposit?

The deposit reserves your date firmly — for you and for me. It makes clear that the day is genuinely blocked out for you and won't be given to someone else at short notice. I'll go over the exact amount and further terms with you when we schedule the date.

Can I choose my own photos?

Yes, you're meant to! After the shoot you get a selection gallery and pick your favourites at your own pace. You can also reorder additional photos later — more on that in my article What happens after the shoot?

Do you travel to my area?

My current locations and dates are always up to date on the main site's Shooting Tour page. I regularly plan tours across Germany, the DACH region, and Europe — and the more enquiries come in from a particular region, the more likely I am to plan a stop there. So get in touch even if your area isn't on the list yet, so I can factor your interest into the tour planning.

What exactly happens during a shoot?

First contact, a relaxed get-to-know-you chat, working out ideas together, agreeing on a date and location, the shoot itself, and at the end your own photo selection. I describe all six steps in detail in my article What to expect: a shoot with Hannah.

How long does a shoot take?

That depends on the package: a portrait shoot takes about an hour, a couple or love story shoot about an hour and a half. For weddings and elopements we plan the duration individually, depending on how much you'd like included — anything from getting ready to the first dance is possible.

I'm not sure which package I need — what now?

That's completely fine, most people come to me exactly like that. Just message me with the occasion or feeling you have in mind, and we'll work out together whether a portrait, couple, or wedding shoot fits best. You can also take a look at my article Portrait or couple shoot? for more guidance.

Do I also get the unedited raw photos?

You get the selection gallery with every photo right after the shoot, so you can take your time choosing — but those images are only base-optimised, not the final edit. The real, careful editing in my style then goes specifically to the photos you selected. That way you end up with exactly the image quality I'm known for, without me having to edit hundreds of photos you wouldn't end up keeping anyway.
